SUPER EDIT:
http://gizmodo.com/5593116/were-pc-gamers-too-good-for-microsofts-cross+platform-gaming-project
Could've figured as much, console gamers blow for the most part.
Hey, is anyone else on NEHalo a PC Gamer? I've been looking toward torrenting a few new games, but because my internet it terrible, it would take forever.
I chill with the peeps from Netwar out here, but am wondering who else games on the console and PC?
Hit me up! _________________

I've mainly just played mmo's on pc. Currently, I'm waiting for some sexy geeks to finish remaking the old school star wars galaxies.
I've never been able to play shooters with the keyboard and mouse, or else I'd be into more pc games |

You should try them sometime! Just get a bigger mousepad, and a mouse that isn't completely stock. _________________

The CTO of Voodoo is full of it. Shadowrun was multiplatform, and a multitude of Dreamcast games before it. Mouse users on Dreamcast used to accuse me of using the Panther trackball, instead of the controller in my hands. That sucker had one analog stick. One! Oh, I am ancient...
Anyways, who were these "top men" from the console community? MLG pros? No names = BS. Did these test games give console players the auto-aim they're used to or not? No specifics = BS. Heck, the fact that most people play on gaming PC's that pale in comparison to the power of 360 would give the console gamers a huge advantage.
The real reason this rumor was started? Flagging sales of high-end PC's, which are over-powered and over-priced for the typical World of Warcraft/MMO player. More cross-platform games with 360 would've meant more incentive to buy high-end systems from companies like, oh, Voodoo. Problem is, PC gamers didn't support them enough to push developers and M$ towards making more. Shadowrun was embraced by the competitive console community, but the PC players failed to show up to the party.
P.S. My PC is used for (surprise) STO and EVE Online, which are both MMO's. It's got a 3.0 ghz dual core, 4 gigs of RAM, and an ATI HD3400 (the weakest link). Even with a Nvidia 9800GTS or newer equivalent, it'd still get stomped by my 360. Great gaming PC's cost a lot of $$$. _________________ The "Playing with Fire" series dealt with the political and social state of gaming culture

I don't really know you, and I might be taking this statement out of context; but do you have functioning eyes?
A current standard gaming PC would wipe the floor with the 'power of 360'. The hardware in the 360 is limited by vram, lack of Anti-aliasing, running DX9, up-converts to 1080i, maxes out at around 45fps(I think :/).
The Xbox 360 runs with a x1950xt I believe. Are you telling me that my Xbox 360 that runs games at 720p with choppy frame-rate is better than a gaming PC that can run the same game at resolutions higher than 720p/1080p, higher frame-rates, better textures and graphical detail, anti-aliasing, DX11, and the customization that PC's offer?
Dollar for dollar, console's win over PC's, but thinking that a 360 has anywhere near the power of a gaming PC is a retarded statement. _________________

Most people who play games on PC don't own a custom gaming PC like the ones sold by Voodoo PC. The expense of such a PC is prohibitive towards teh average World of Warcraft player. I listed the specs of my PC, and said the 360 beat it. In the text you quoted out of context, I stated that most people play on PC's that are beat by the 360. I never stated that the 360 beat high-end or new Gaming PC's.
A new gaming PC that can actually beat the 360 will cost the average consumer about $1,000. You don't need that to play an MMO though, rather you can get buy with a budget PC that doesn't even have a dedicated graphics card (my old laptop ran Warcraft near max settings at 30 fps on an Intel integrated).
I could google longer for a more current list, but here's the top selling PC games of 2007:
1. World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade -- 2.25 million
2. World of Warcraft -- 914,000
3. The Sims 2 Seasons Expansion Pack -- 433,000
4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare -- 383,000
5. Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars -- 343,000
6. SimCity 4 Deluxe -- 284,000
7. The Sims 2 -- 281,000
8. The Sims 2 Bon Voyage Expansion Pack -- 271,000
9. Age of Empires III -- 259,000
10. The Sims 2 Pets Expansion Pack -- 236,000
With the exception of CoD4 and CnC3, everything on that list is perfectly playable on my budget laptop from 2006. The best selling PC game of 2009 was The Sims 3. Much like the Wii, the PC gaming market is ruled by the casual player, which is sure to irk the CTO of Voodoo PC. He can try to blame his woes on some nebulous day when Microsoft pitted "top men" (indiana jones reference) from the console competitive community against mediocre PC players, but I don't buy it for a second. Microsoft made Shadowrun, and the PC community failed to show up for the party. _________________ The "Playing with Fire" series dealt with the political and social state of gaming culture

Most people who game on PC don't buy ridiculously overpriced PC's from websites like Voodoo. A PC that could beat the 360 would cost the not retarded consumer a little over $500. With that comes the different iterations of things PC's can do that a 360 can not.
I am not going to argue with you about any CTO of Voodoo. PC gamers have a far superior ability at mastering there specific games than console gamers do, in my opinion. It is common sense that a keyboard + Mouse combo allows for much greater control than a keyboard.
OT: Starcraft II sold 1.8 million copies on launch day. _________________

Scott, arguing with you in general is a waste of time. The ignorance of a single console gamer shines from your face. KB+M > Cont. EVERY SINGLE TIME. _________________
